History does show this to be true however it seems that globalization has taken us into a new realm of violence with culture clashes, intolerance and misunderstandings. Why can't we live and let live? Why do some people think it is their way or the highway? Is it all about religion?
The thing that really gets me about religious fundamentalism is that if one looks into the history of religions, it is pretty easy to see how all religions spring from the same well. The names of the players are different, the rules of the game are different. Do we control the pussy with banning a woman's right to choose or by stoning her for wearing a skirt that shows her ankles? Do we overpopulate the planet in our belief that "we need more followers"? Even the Pope has weighed in regarding that, in a very open way.
What is so difficult about tolerance? Why do we always feel we have to be right? Does that make us better? Personally, I have often learned far more by being wrong. Where do you weigh in on why this world seems to be spinning out of control? Do you think peace is unattainable?
